OUR STORY

Our unique approach has made us one of the largest private real estate owner/operators in western Canada. Since 2006, we’ve acquired over $1.9 billion in assets under management across various asset classes, risk profiles, and primary/secondary western Canadian markets.

We like to say our team invests alongside our investors. We consider ourselves stewards of capital – our ultimate goal is to create long-term value, preserve capital, and drive compelling returns through a variety of investment offerings. To date, Avenue Living has raised $700 million in equity from private, strategic capital partners.

2006

Built from Brooks

Avenue Living traces its roots back to 2006 when we acquired our first 24 units in Brooks, Alberta. We implement a value creation model through renovations and improved management, resulting in enhanced rents and income.

2006-2007

We Execute our Strategy

Avenue Living refinances assets and deploys equity for new acquisitions. We begin building the property management platform in parallel as our portfolio grows.

2007-2014

EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

Our investment strategy allows us to grow from 100 to 5,500 multi-residential units across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in 7 years. Strategic capital relationships allow us to grow.

2014-2016

Launch of the First Partnership

Avenue Living (2014) LP is established, successfully raising $85 million in private capital. Assets under management total 6,000+ units valued at ~$850 million.

2014-2017

We Focus on Capital Improvements

Management strategically refocuses on launching a major $85 million capital program, renovating the entire portfolio to a new standard of quality, and extending the useful life of properties.

2016-2017

Our Offerings Expand

Avenue Living Real Estate Opportunity Trust and Avenue Living Agricultural Land Trust are established as new investment offerings in 2016.

2018

Our First Billion

We reach our $1 billion assets under management milestone, with the acquisition of a 235 unit town house in Red Deer, Alberta. In addition to this achievement, two new markets were added to the Avenue Living portfolio in 2018 and we gained recognition for our sizable presence in our current markets.

Our Offerings Expand (Again)

Avenue Living U.S. Real Estate Trust and Mini Mall Storage Properties Trust are established as we continue to diversify our offerings and expand our markets. Both Trusts are well-positioned for growth through leverage of the Avenue Living platform.
