Our unique approach has made us one of the largest private real estate owner/operators in North America. Since 2006, we’ve acquired over $4.25 billion in assets under management across various asset classes, risk profiles, and primary/secondary North American markets.

Avenue Living is the proud steward of $1.75B+ in equity capital, including $300M+ of founders, friends and family capital which sits pari-passu with our investors.


Built from Brooks

Avenue Living traces its roots back to 2006 when we acquired our first 24 units in Brooks, Alberta. We implement a value creation model through renovations and improved management, resulting in enhanced rents and income.


We Execute our Strategy

Avenue Living refinances assets and deploys equity for new acquisitions. We begin building the property management platform in parallel as our portfolio grows.



Our investment strategy allows us to grow from 100 to 5,500 multi-residential units across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in 7 years. Strategic capital relationships allow us to grow.


Launch of the First Partnership

Avenue Living (2014) LP is established, successfully raising $85 million in private capital. Assets under management total 6,000+ units valued at ~$850 million.


We Focus on Capital Improvements

Management strategically refocuses on launching a major $85 million capital program, renovating the entire portfolio to a new standard of quality, and extending the useful life of properties.


Our Offerings Expand

Avenue Living Real Estate Opportunity Trust and Avenue Living Agricultural Land Trust are established as new investment offerings in 2016.


Our First Billion

We reach our $1 billion assets under management milestone, with the acquisition of a 235 unit town house in Red Deer, Alberta. In addition to this achievement, two new markets were added to the Avenue Living portfolio in 2018 and we gained recognition for our sizable presence in our current markets.

Our Offerings Expand (Again)

Avenue Living U.S. Real Estate Trust and Mini Mall Storage Properties Trust are established as we continue to diversify our offerings and expand our markets. Both Trusts are well-positioned for growth through leverage of the Avenue Living platform.


Entering a New Market

The closing of our first U.S. acquisitions in Colorado Springs marked the launch of our U.S. Real Estate Trust. The USD$39 million, 342-door Kansas City acquisition in November 2020 also added to our list of milestones, at the time the largest single investment in our history.


Beyond 10,000 Doors

With the acquisition of Hays Farm in November 2020, Avenue Living became the owner and operator of over 10,000 multi-family doors. This achievement was the result of an aggressive strategy that averaged 16 per cent compounded year-over-year growth.


Our Second Billion

A clear focus, robust platform, and strategic, data-driven investment took us over $2 billion in assets under management in December, 2020. In the midst of worldwide economic upheaval and a global pandemic, we grew by $450 million year over year (an increase of 30 per cent).


Our Third Billion

Our growth continued, even in spite of the ongoing pandemic, as we added another $1.5 billion to our AUM in just 1.5 years. Focusing on our proven strategy helped drive us to the $3 billion benchmark and continued to create value for residents and investors.



We became a proud signatory of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. In becoming a PRI signatory, we have made a public commitment to act in the best long-term interests of our beneficiaries and the communities we serve. ESG metrics are critical for the performance of investment portfolios, and we have formally pledged to act in accordance with the six PRI guiding principles.



Mini Mall Storage Properties Trust (MMSP Trust) expands into the United States. The expansion is a continuation of the overall plan to position MMSP Trust to acquire self-storage properties in attractive secondary markets across North America.



The Avenue Living Real Estate Core Trust acquires 100 per cent ownership interest in the Avenue Living U.S. Real Estate Trust to facilitate further expansion into the American Heartland and redefine us as a holistic North American entity.


Our Fourth Billion

Our dedication to delivering an industry-leading customer experience has helped us build a scalable, defensible model that has allowed us to double our assets under management to $4.25 billion in under two years and make significant headway in markets across the North American Heartland.
